GTA Resources and Mining (GTA) owns a 100% interest in the 1229 claim unit Auden project (approx 20,000 hectares) which covers a 60 km strike length of the Auden Greenstone belt, located between the towns of Hearst and Long Lac in Northern Ontario. The property was originally staked by 1518164 Ontario Inc. who subsequently folded the claims into GTA Resources and Mining as its “Property of Merit”. 1518164 Ontario retain a 3% NSR on any future mineral production with GTA having a buyout on half of this.

For the most part the area is overburden covered and the interpreted geology has been compiled by geophysical interpretation and limited historic drill holes. The area is underlain by an interlayered sequence of mafic and felsic volcanic and tuffs with associated sediments including iron formation and conglomerates. Intrusive into the centre of the claims is the Nagagami peralkaline complex which hosts Zenyatta’s recently discovered Albany Graphite deposit. Previous workers have interpreted a major “break” running the length of the claims which has shown to be anomalous in gold/copper/arsenic associated with altered volcanic and conglomerates. Regionally the Auden volcano/sedimentary belt is a continuation of the Geraldton-Long Lac greenstone belt, located 100 km to the west. Recent work in the Geraldton area by Premier gold has defined a 4.647 Moz gold reserve (plus 2.66 Moz resource) at the Hardrock Mine.

Subsequent to completing a compilation report on the claim block, GTA flew airborne EM and magnetics over the entire property and has carried out ground follow-up on a number of these EM targets. Six of these targets were drill tested in 2014. The six targets were within or proximal to the “hockey puck” magnetic target which is a continuation of the Nagagami peralkaline intrusive which hosts the Zenyatta graphite pipe. The conductivity was associated with either stringer to disseminated pyrrhotite/pyrite or deep sections of overburden filled with clay deposits. Best results from the GTA drilling was a 12 meter intersection of disseminated pyrrhotite which assayed 0.33 gpt PGM + Au and 0.24% Cu.

Numerous  targets remain to be tested and these include:

  • A number of EM targets in what is thought to be favourable geology for base metals, precious metals and graphitic pipes. Twelve untested targets have been isolated for testing. Grid geophysics was completed on a few of these targets and the remainder will require small grids.
  • Follow-up of historic anomalous gold including
    • Shell hole 78-04  which intersected 0.67g/t Au over 16.9 m from an asenopyrite /pyrrhotite rich iron formation Shell hole 78-04  which intersected 0.67g/t Au over 16.9 m from an asenopyrite /pyrrhotite rich iron formation
    • Follow-up of Shell hole 78-14 (1.23g/t Au over 2.74 m) which intersected anomalous gold in an arsenopyrite-pyrite bearing, bleached green mica sericite schist
  • All claims are presently in good standing until 2019 and have excess assessment credits banked to keep them until well into 2019. A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with the First Nations Community of Constance Lake which is located south of the Auden claims. Access is provided by a series of forest access roads and infrastructure including regional highways, electrical power, natural gas pipeline and railroad are within 20 km of the property. Future plans include a program of grid geophysics and compilation to be followed by a 2500 m drill program.
